White House "Infested" With Bed Bugs - Trump Blames Obama

A White House aide, speaking under the condition of anonymity, told the Hanner Times that the White House is "infested" with bedbugs.

"It's hard," the aide continued, "to keep the bed bugs out while letting the public in.  What's needed is a complete shutdown of the White House for treatment.  Anything less will prove to be ineffective."

Asked how he seemed to know so much about bed bugs, the aide said that he, like many others in the White House, has brought the bugs home from work.  He's learned about the different treatments available, and their costs.

Melania Trump, our First Lady, has refused to move into the White House.  We think the bed bug situation may have played a role in her decision.

Our source says that the Trump administration is blaming the situation on the Obama administration.  Josh Earnest, spokesman for the Obama administration, says that President Trump brought the bed bugs with him.  "We had the White House treated twice a month and no one ever saw any bed bugs," according to Mr. Earnest.

No matter who you believe, it's probably for the best if you don't visit the White House these days.  There's enough traffic with the change of administrations.  And ex-President Obama had numerous African dignitaries in the White House.  African bed bugs make ours look like fleas by comparison.  If the furniture starts moving, that's African bed bugs.  Dynamite might prove to be the only effective weapon against African bed bugs.

In these difficult times, it's hard enough to just get by.  Bed bugs aren't a problem that anyone deserves.   But they're here and we have to do something about them.  A napalm airstrike against the White House might be needed.  Of course, we would lose a lot of history if we did that.  But we also would be making history and showing that the Trump administration isn't afraid to make the hard decisions that are necessary in these times.  President Trump, meet your bed bugs; bed bugs, meet your doom.

"President of Mexico DEFENDS Trump call, says AP WRONG!!"

"All the hubbub last night over Trump threatening to send troops to Mexico was for naught, as both a US official and the spokesman for Mexico’s president have both now defended the call.

"An anonymous US official told the AP this morning that Trump’s comments were merely lighthearted:
BREAKING: US official: Trump remark about having military deal with `hombres' in Mexico was `lighthearted,' part of security talks.
"Late last night the office of the President of Mexico said the AP’s original characterization was simply false:
"Eduardo Sanchez, spokesman for Mexico’s presidential office, said the conversation was respectful, not hostile or humiliating. 'It is absolutely false that the president of the United States threatened to send troops to Mexico,' Sanchez said in an interview with Radio Formula on Wednesday night.
"The Mexican Foreign Relations Department had earlier told The AP: 'The negative statements you refer to did not occur during said telephone call. On the contrary, the tone was constructive.'
"As we pointed out last night, CNN’s own Jake Tapper disputed the characterization from the get go:
My reporting suggests the AP is not quoting a transcript it is quoting from an internal WH readout of the Trump/Peña Nieto call. I have ...1
2 an excerpt of the transcript & we're about to publish what President Trump actually said on the call. It's not as antagonistic as readout
"As soon as I saw the AP’s write up last night, I was extremely suspicious. On it’s face, the claim seemed outlandish. But then I never was one who believed Trump would be this fascist dictator that the Left and some Never Trumpers thought he’d be.

"I just wonder if the same leaked transcript had come during the Obama administration, would the AP have run with the story that Obama threatened to send troops into Mexico or would they have been more skeptical and dug for more details first?"

I still say we should give California to Mexico.  Then we could rename New Mexico to New California.

FINALLY: “As of today, we are officially putting Iran on notice"

Who'd have thunk it? After eight interminably long years, we finally have a real life, actual, pro-American President.

...national security adviser Michael Flynn [announced today] that the U.S. is “officially putting Iran on notice.”

“There are a large number of options available to the administration. We are going to take appropriate action and I will not provide any further information today relative to that question,” a senior administration official told reporters... “The important thing here is we are communicating that Iranian behavior needs to be rethought by Tehran.”

...In a surprise appearance in the White House briefing room earlier in the day, Flynn vowed a more muscular U.S. response to Iran’s “destabilizing behavior across the Middle East,” including its ballistic missile test launch over the weekend.

The launch violated a United Nations Security Council resolution that prohibits tests of ballistic missiles designed to carry nuclear warheads, Flynn said.

“In these and other similar activities, Iran continues to threaten U.S. friends and allies in the region,” Flynn said, blaming President Barack Obama for allowing Iran to become “emboldened.”

Flynn also cited heightened tensions with Houthi forces in Yemen, stating that “Houthi forces that Iran has trained and armed have struck Emirati and Saudi vessels, and threatened U.S. and allied vessels transiting the Red Sea.”

“As of today, we are officially putting Iran on notice,” he said.
Just saying: Iran had better read these paragraphs very, very carefully. Unless they want to be introduced into the major leagues of violence.

Where's Robin Leigh?

Robin Leigh is the best computer expert I've known.  I have a friend out in the county who used to be my best.  No wonder: he's self-employed as a repairman for heavy machinery controlled by computer(s).  He charges $200 an hour from the moment he leaves his house until he returns.  He gets it, too, because the competition charges $300 an hour.  My friend has clients from Milwaukee to Chicago.

But, back to Robin Leigh.  I met him at a trade show in Chicago about ten years ago.  Though he's twenty years younger than me, we hit it off right away.  And, like I said, he knows scads of stuff about computers.  Stuff I'd never known or seen before.  I'd seen my buddy go to the command prompt and start "talking" with the computer in DOS (Direct Operating System) a few times.  He maintained a steady pace as he ran through the procedures that were causing problems.

Robin Leigh, however, types so fast I almost expect the keyboard to melt.  The CPU needs to work to keep up with him.  He works for the government (he says), but he remains vague on the details.  When he's in the general area, he usually gives me a call and we get together for lunch or whatever.

About six months ago, Robin asked his employer if he could have a 6-month sabbatical.  Unexpectedly, he or she said yes. So, Robin said he was going to volunteer in the Trump campaign.  He did, and then he disappeared.

About 5 months ago, Robin called me from Washington, D.C., "where the action is."  He'd just arrived at his hotel and we didn't talk long.  About two weeks later, he called me again saying that he had volunteered at the local Trump campaign office.  He was hoping to get a peek of his hero someday.

And then, nothing.  After about another month and a half, I decided to try to find him.  I called the Trump Campaign office in Washington, D.C. and asked about Robin.  They had no idea who I was talking about.  I described him as "Tall, dark, and not-so-handsome." I would best describe him as "thick."  Not fat, but thick.  He probably weighs 275 lbs. His fingers are like sausages, but they fly over the keyboard.

When I told them when I thought Robin had started there, they said that was Joshua. "Joshua?"  "Joshua."  She didn't know his last name.  Did she know what happened to him?  "Yes, one day two guys in suits came in and started talking to him.  After awhile, all three left.  I haven't seen Joshua since."

Shit.  Do I push it any further?  Where would I push?  I like Robin/Joshua a lot, but maybe that's because I don't see him that often.  I don't know where to go from here.  I'm just going to wait.

"Indiana parade float depicts Clinton in electric chair"

From WiG and AP reports

"Parade organizers in a southeastern Indiana town say they regret including a float depicting Hillary Clinton sitting in an electric chair with Donald Trump throwing the switch.

"The city of Aurora, Indiana, issued a statement denouncing the float, which appeared in the Aurora Farmers Fair parade.

"The city said the imagery was 'not consistent with the values of our citizens or who we want to be as a city.'

"The statement from the city said:

"The Aurora Farmers Fair is the pinnacle of our city’s year. Every year, a countless number of community members, organizations, schools and families help make our hometown of Aurora and the Aurora Farmers Fair special.

"We are disappointed that the actions of a few individuals have taken the focus away from what was otherwise a very successful 108th Aurora Farmers Fair. The Aurora Lions Club is the leading charitable organization in our City. The City of Aurora refuses to believe that this particular float is in anyway a reflection of the Aurora Lions Club or its members.

"The City of Aurora has no involvement in selecting float participants. The imagery portrayed by the float is simply not consistent with the values of our citizens or who we want to be as a city.

"The City of Aurora will have no further comment in this matter.

"The Aurora Lions Club organized the parade. In its statement, the club said:

"The Aurora Lions Club regrets the display which was part of the Aurora Farmers Fair parade on October 1st which offended some viewers. The parade is a public venue which does not reflect the views of the Aurora Lions Club. As a member of a worldwide service organization, we are proud and standby our record of service to this community. We appreciate the high levels of support and the esteem given to us by our citizens. We will continue to do our best to live up to their standards. We hope the political circus of this year’s election stays with the national media. Sincerely, Aurora Lions Club

"Frank Linkemeyer made the float. He says he wasn’t trying to offend anyone and was just having fun.. “it definitely was all for laughter,” is his statement.

"The float also had a grim reaper figure holding a scythe.

"The town of 3,700 is about 30 miles west of Cincinnati.

"Earlier this year, Trump was speaking to gun-rights advocates when he raised the threat of violence against Clinton. Trump said, 'Hillary wants to abolish — essentially abolish the Second Amendment. By the way, if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.'

"The Republican added, 'But I tell you what, that will be a horrible day, if Hillary gets to put her judges in, right now we’re tied.'"

Aha-ha-ha-ha-ha.  That's where most politicians belong.  Ain't nobody got a sense of humor anymore?
